Psychology Graduate - SEND Teaching Assistant

Are you a Psychology Graduate interested in SEND and looking to gain practical experience working with children?

Aspire People are currently recruiting Psychology Graduates to support primary schools across Manchester.

If you've recently completed a Psychology degree and are particularly interested in Autism, ADHD, communication needs, learning difficulties or child development , this could be a great opportunity to put your academic knowledge into practice.

We're looking for graduates who want to understand how children learn, develop and communicate, and who are keen to build experience supporting pupils with additional needs.

The Role May Include:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with SEND
  • Helping children access classroom learning
  • Supporting communication and social development
  • Encouraging emotional regulation and independence
  • Assisting with interventions and learning activities
  • Supporting positive behaviour
  • Building trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
  • Monitoring progress and sharing observations
We're Looking For:
  • Degree in Psychology, Child Psychology or a related subject
  • Genuine interest in SEND and child development
  • Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a school environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding

Previous experience working with children, young people, tutoring, mentoring or SEND would be advantageous.
