Caledonian Recruitment Group Ltd are recruiting a PSV Technician in the Heathrow/Hillingdon area on a 4 Days On/4 Days Off shift (12 hour shifts). Experienced HGV/PSV technicians with a strong diagnostic capability are invited to apply.

The role involves servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to keep fleets safe and reliable. You will work in a well-equipped workshop, with opportunities for overtime, HV training and IRTEC accreditation, and career progression within a respected

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Experience on PSV/HGV/LGV or other heavy vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Good understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on buses and coaches.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Complete safety inspections and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure they remain fully roadworthy.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out repairs efficiently.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and job documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work collaboratively with the engineering team to achieve fleet availability targets.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety policies and company procedures.

Brief Summary

Are you an experienced HGV Technician or PSV Technician looking for your next challenge?

We are recruiting skilled engineers in the Heathrow / Hillingdon area to work the desirable 4 Days On / 4 Days Off shift pattern (12 hour shifts), maintaining modern fleets that keep the capital moving safely and reliably every day.

The Role

As a PSV Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance. Working alternating early and late shifts you’ll be working within a well‑equipped workshop where you'll carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs to minimise vehicle downtime and maximise fleet availability.

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, IMI or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience working on PSV, HGV, LGV or other heavy vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities.
• Good understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.
• PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.
