Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking a qualified PSV Technician for a full-time, permanent role in Bristol/Yate. You will service and repair a varied fleet of service buses, coaches and minibuses, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and preferably a PSV/HGV licence, with training offered to the right candidate. Day shifts available with two start times and a negotiable hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on a varied fleet.

• Carry out safety inspections and defect rectification.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT/PSV testing.
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.

PSV Technician

Location: Yate, Bristol

Hours: Day shifts only – 6:00am–4:00pm or 7:00am–5:00pm

Pay: Negotiable hourly rate depending on experience

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for a qualified PSV/HGV Technician to join a friendly and experienced team, working on a modern and varied fleet of service buses, coaches and minibuses.

The fleet includes Alexander Dennis, Volvo and Mercedes vehicles, providing excellent variety for an experienced commercial vehicle technician.

Previous experience working within a bus or coach company would be preferred but is not essential.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a varied commercial vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Carry out safety inspections and defect rectification
• Prepare vehicles for MOT/PSV testing
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Diagnose faults using appropriate equipment
• Complete maintenance records and relevant paperwork
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant regulations
• Work effectively as part of a friendly and experienced workshop team

About You

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and experienced in the maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles.

You will ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Previous experience working on PSV, HGV or other commercial vehicles
• A strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and fault diagnosis
• A self-motivated and reliable approach to work
• Good attention to detail
• An efficient and practical approach to problem solving
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

A PSV or HGV licence is preferred, although training will be provided to the right candidate to obtain the relevant qualification where required.

Hours & Pay

Day shifts only, with either:

• 6:00am – 4:00pm
• or
• 7:00am – 5:00pm

Overtime is available.

The hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience, qualifications and technical ability.
