Job summary

Alecto Recruitment is hiring a PSV / HGV Technician to maintain a large modern fleet. You’ll perform routine servicing, inspections and fault finding to keep vehicles safe and reliable. Overtime and weekend shifts available with higher weekend rates.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical qualification (Level 3 or equivalent preferred).
• Experience working on PSV, HGV, bus, coach or commercial vehicles is desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete vehicle defect repairs efficiently and safely.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and compliance inspections.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Minimise vehicle downtime through effective fault finding and repair.

The Role

As a PSV / HGV Technician, you will be responsible for keeping vehicles safe, reliable and available for service by:

• Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance


• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults


• Completing vehicle defect repairs efficiently and safely


• Preparing vehicles for MOT and compliance inspections


• Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards


• Minimising vehicle downtime through effective fault finding and repair
