Job summary

Arriva UK Bus Ltd in Luton is seeking a PSV/HGV mechanic to service, repair, and maintain our fleet of public service vehicles. You will diagnose faults, perform MOT prep, and work with modern workshop technology within a collaborative engineering team.

The role is full-time, with a rotating shift pattern including early, late, and weekend work. A Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance qualification and a full UK driving licence are preferred; training on PCV and EV tech is provided.

Qualifications

• PSV/HGV mechanic experience is required.
• Level 3 qualification in Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence (PCV/HGV desirable, but not essential).
• Electrical systems knowledge is desirable.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts including evenings and weekends.

Full-time | 5 out of 7 shift rota (mornings, afternoons & late shifts)

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a PSV/HGV mechanic or engineer (automotive, heavy vehicle, or rail considered)

Level 3 qualification in Vehicle or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Full UK driving license (PCV/HGV desirable, but not essential)

Electrical systems knowledge (desirable but not essential)

Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern, including evenings and weekends
