Job summary

First Bus is seeking a PSV/HGV Mechanic for the Adderley Green Depot in Stoke-on-Trent. The role requires NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent, with flexibility to multi-skill and a UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable).

39 hours per week, full-time, with early or late shifts on a 5-of-7 rotation. You will diagnose and repair vehicles, service and inspect, and support breakdowns as needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Flexible approach to work with ability to multi-skill.
• UK driving licence held; PCV licence desirable though training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify correct repair methods and parts.
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine inspections using data capture devices.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries as needed.
• Carry out road tests to identify defects after repairs.
