Job summary

First Bus Wells Depot is seeking an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic to service and repair our PSV/HGV fleet at Wells Depot. The role requires a flexible approach, with hours of Mon 6am-2pm and Tue-Fri 10am-6pm, 39 hours per week, and an hourly pay of £19.70.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred.
• Flexible approach to work with ability to multi-skill.
• UK driving license holder; PCV license desirable; support to achieve it if needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify repair methods and parts.
• Carry out servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices.
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries as required.
• Carry out road tests to identify defects after repair.
