Job summary

McKinlay Law is seeking a PSL/knowledge lawyer in London to support the employment law practice. The role is part-time (3–4 days a week) with flexibility on days, focusing on maintaining resources, training, and knowledge sharing for the wider team.

You will provide legal research support, create practical resources, and help deliver internal training while exploring AI-enabled tools to improve workflows. The position offers a flexible work pattern in a prestigious firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with PSL/knowledge lawyer experience in employment law.
• Strong ability to research, analyse and present complex legal topics.
• Experience designing and delivering training and materials.

Responsibilities

• Monitor developments in employment law and communicate key updates clearly.
• Maintain and improve the library of precedents, templates and guidance.
• Encourage knowledge sharing across the department and update KM platform.
• Provide technical guidance and legal research support to lawyers on matters.
• Design and deliver engaging internal training programmes on legal topics.
• Coordinate with Partners and external Counsel to plan the training programme.
• Drive continuous improvement including AI technologies and legal software.
• Support the Partners and Head of Operations on policy alignment with changes in employment legislation.
• Contribute high-quality legal content to strengthen external profile.

Hours: Part time – open to 3 / 4 days a week (flexible on part time options)

Prestigious London law firm are looking for a PSL / knowledge lawyer to support their London team and help maintain and enhance their technical expertise by ensuring colleagues have access to current legal information, practical resources, and high-quality training.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitoring developments in employment law and communicating key updates in a clear, practical format for the wider team.
• Maintaining and improving the library of precedents, templates, practice notes and technical guidance, while creating new resources where required.
• Encouraging knowledge sharing across the department and maintaining contributions within the firm's internal knowledge management platform.
• Providing technical guidance and legal research support to lawyers working on client matters.
• Designing and delivering engaging internal training programmes on legal and technical topics.
• Coordinating with Partners, colleagues, and external Counsel to plan and deliver the team's annual training programme.
• Driving continuous improvement by identifying more efficient ways of working, including assessing and implementing emerging AI technologies and legal software solutions.
• Supporting the Partners and Head of Operations in ensuring the firm's policies, procedures and practices remain aligned with changes in employment legislation.

You will also play an important role in strengthening the firm's external profile by producing high-quality legal content and supporting a range of business development activities.
