Job summary

Simpson Judge in London is seeking a Corporate PSL/Knowledge Lawyer to support its transactional practice. The role suits an experienced PSL/Knowledge Lawyer or a Corporate/Private Equity lawyer moving away from fee-earning.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements. You will develop precedents, monitor changes in company law, provide technical support on complex corporate matters, deliver training, and contribute to client briefings, thought leadership and business development.

Qualifications

• England & Wales qualified solicitor or barrister with strong corporate background.
• Experience in corporate M&A, private equity, equity investments, JVs and transactional documentation.
• PSL experience welcomed but not required.

Working Pattern: Hybrid

I am working with a leading US law firm in London that is looking to appoint a Corporate Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) / Knowledge Lawyer to support its growing transactional practice.

The opportunity is open to both experienced PSL/Knowledge Lawyers and Corporate/Private Equity lawyers looking to move away from traditional fee earning. Previous PSL experience is advantageous but not essential.

The Practice

The wider team advises major corporates, private equity houses, investment funds, financial institutions and investors on sophisticated UK and cross-border transactions.

The practice covers areas including:

• Corporate M&A & Private Equity
• Equity investments and joint ventures
• Fund-related transactions and co-investments
• GP-led secondaries and continuation funds
• Preferred equity and GP stakes
• Platform investments and corporate reorganisations

The Role

Working closely with Partners and fee earners, you will become a key technical and knowledge resource for the transactional practice.

Responsibilities will include:

Candidate Profile

The firm is looking for an England & Wales qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a strong Corporate background, ideally gained within a leading City, international or US law firm.

Candidates should have experience across areas such as Corporate M&A, Private Equity, equity investments, JVs and transactional documentation.

Existing PSL experience is welcome but not required.

The firm is particularly interested in hearing from Corporate/Private Equity Senior Associates who enjoy the technical side of corporate law and are considering a move into a knowledge-focused position.
