Job summary

Elementa Support Services is seeking a passionate PSHE/RSHE Teacher to support students with SEMH and SEND across four sites in Somerset & North Somerset. You must have QTS and deliver structured, inclusive PSHE lessons aligned with EHCP requirements.

The role offers day rates of £168.80–£243.45, with a Temp-Perm contract, full-time hours and ASAP start, supported by Elementa's training, welfare checks and full PAYE payroll.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience delivering PSHE within a SEND, specialist, or secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge across the PSHE curriculum including emotional wellbeing, relationships, personal development, independence and essential life skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible, and well-structured PSHE lessons for learners with SEMH and SEND.
• Differentiate teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and EHCP requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, parents/carers and external professionals to ensure positive outcomes for pupils.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated PSHE/RSHE Teacher who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex SEND.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience delivering PSHE within a SEND, specialist, or secondary school setting. You will possess strong subject knowledge across the PSHE curriculum, including emotional wellbeing, relationships, personal development, independence, and essential life skills.

You will be confident in planning and delivering engaging, accessible, and highly structured lessons that meet a diverse range of learning needs. With a thorough understanding of differentiation and EHCP requirements, you will be able to adapt teaching approaches to ensure every learner can achieve success and make meaningful progress.

A calm, consistent, and nurturing practitioner, you will demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills and have the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may present with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. You will be committed to fostering inclusion, promoting independence, and supporting the personal growth and wellbeing of every student.

Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as you will work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people. Most importantly, you will share our belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Contract & Recruitment Information

Elementa is the recruiting partner; therefore, applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting and background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20), unless you have a current Enhanced DBS subscribed to the Update Service.
