Job summary

ERSG Careers is seeking a protection and control engineer to support multiple projects in Scotland. You will assess technical scope during development, evaluate third-party designs as projects move into delivery, and contribute to panel and scheme design and protection settings.

The role requires an HNC in Electrical Engineering, hands-on experience in transmission protection and control applications, and strong communication to brief project leaders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HNC level in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in transmission protection and control application specification, panel and scheme design, and protection settings calculation.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection and control engineering support across multiple projects.
• Assess and define technical scope during development phases.
• Evaluate third‑party detailed designs as projects move into delivery (panel and scheme designs).
• Configure protection equipment per application and scheme requirements; calculate protection settings.
• Assess third‑party contractor factory acceptance tests for new and retrofit projects.
• Support multi‑disciplinary teams in identifying engineering risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to the development of digital design capabilities and scheme standardisation.
