The Property and Development Service plays a lead role in generating income and capital receipts for the Council through acquisitions, disposals and the proactive management of its extensive commercial property portfolio. These investments and management strategy play a key role in securing income to fund wider Council services for the benefit of local communities.
Teams within the service work in partnership with the private sector and key stakeholders to secure high quality investment in the city and deliver major mixed-use regeneration schemes, such as Friargate and City Centre South, which will create thousands of new homes and jobs for the city.
The Commercial Property Management Team provides an effective day-to-day management service across the Council’s commercial property portfolio. The team is responsible for ensuring that properties are safe, well-maintained and managed efficiently, while achieving value for money and protecting the long-term condition of the estate.
As a Property Manager, you will:
Applicants must demonstrate substantial relevant experience in commercial property management. You should either hold the NEBOSH General Certificate or be willing to undertake and complete the qualification within an agreed and reasonable timeframe following appointment.

We are looking for a proactive, organised property professional who can take ownership of their workload, exercise sound judgement, and pay close attention to detail.
You will have relevant experience of managing commercial property or a similarly varied property portfolio, together with a practical understanding of buildings, maintenance and repair. You should be able to identify issues, determine appropriate action and coordinate works in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures.
