What is the job role?

This is a unique opportunity to join us on a permanent basis as a Team Manager in Responsive Services, being part of the Children and Family Initial Response Service, formerly known as the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and having responsibility for the Emergency Duty Team.

The Children and Family Initial Response Service is the Front Door to Children's Services. It brings key professionals together to facilitate quality information sharing, analysis and decision-making, to safeguard vulnerable children and young people more effectively. Staff from across health, children's services, police, and education are based in the service at any one time at its base in ONE Friargate in the city centre. Our Children and Family Initial Response Service is the front door to statutory services, applying consistent thresholds based on Effective Support for Children & Families in Coventry.

The Emergency Duty Team (out-of-hours social care) offers essential support services, generally outside of standard office hours, to address urgent social care needs and reduce the likelihood of emergencies occurring. EDT ensure that any Social Care emergencies that cannot be safely left to the following working day are dealt with, responding to the whole of the community of Coventry, including Children's Services, Housing, Adult Social Care and Youth Justice Services, therefore considering the overarching principles and objectives of these disciplines.

The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides an out-of-hours emergency service between 5 pm and 8.30 am throughout the week, including weekends and is office-based during these times.

The team responds to safeguarding concerns relating to children, young people, their families and adults. They also provide an out-of-hours housing service.

Team Managers are instrumental in leading a motivated team, implementing quality assurance as standard and being creative to deliver the best possible services and outcomes for our families.

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
