Job summary

Intact Insurance is seeking a Commercial Loss Adjuster to join our established Commercial Claims team in the UK. You will manage property claims from notification to settlement, with remote work and on-site visits as needed.

The role covers a portfolio of claims up to £100,000 across multiple sectors, requiring strong negotiation and indemnity control. You’ll build client and broker relationships, coordinate suppliers, and support continuous improvements in claims handling and policy wordings.

Job description

Role Purpose:

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Loss Adjuster to join our established Commercial Claims team. In this role, you will manage commercial property claims from initial notification through to settlement, delivering an efficient and customer-focused service throughout the claims journey. Working remotely and conducting site visits as required, you will manage a portfolio of commercial claims typically valued between £10,000 and £100,000 across Property Owner, Retail, Industrial and Office sectors. You will leverage your technical claims expertise, negotiation skills, and commercial property knowledge to achieve fair outcomes for customers while maintaining effective indemnity control and supporting Intact's commitment to exceptional customer service

In this role, you'll make an impact by:

• Managing commercial property claims from instruction through to settlement, ensuring excellent customer outcomes.
• Conducting initial claim assessments, gathering evidence, reviewing coverage, and setting appropriate reserves.
• Coordinating suppliers, surveyors, and contractors to support efficient claim progression and resolution.
• Delivering claim decisions and settlement recommendations within delegated authority levels.
• Managing customer and broker relationships through clear, timely, and professional communication.
• Proactively controlling indemnity spend while protecting customer experience and enhancing the Intact's brand.
• Escalating complex or high-value claims appropriately and collaborating with technical specialists when required.
• Supporting surge event response activities and contributing to continuous improvements in claims handling practices and policy wordings.

Your skills and experience:

• Proven experience handling commercial property claims, ideally in a field-based loss adjusting environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial property insurance, coverage assessment, and claims validation processes.
• Experience managing suppliers, contractors, and repair networks while maintaining cost controls.
• Good understanding of building construction and property damage assessment.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, organisational, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to support customers during challenging situations.
• Ideally qualified to Cert CII and/or Cert CILA level, or working towards professional qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required
