Job summary

Intact Insurance is recruiting a Commercial Loss Adjuster to cover the West Yorkshire area. You will manage commercial property claims end-to-end, coordinating surveyors, contractors and other specialists while protecting costs and delivering strong customer outcomes.

The role requires building construction knowledge, strong negotiation and stakeholder management, and a willingness to travel to customer sites across the region. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience handling commercial property claims, ideally field-based.
• Strong knowledge of commercial property insurance, coverage assessment, and claims validation.
• Experience managing suppliers, contractors, and repair networks with cost controls.
• Good understanding of building construction and property damage assessment.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with customers during challenging situations.
• Ideally qualified to Cert CII and/or Cert CILA, or working towards professional qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

• Control indemnity spend while protecting customer experience and brand.
• Escalate complex/high-value claims and collaborate with technical specialists.
• Support surge events and contribute to improvements in claims handling.

Job description

Intact Insurance are hiring a Commercial Loss Adjuster to join the team covering the West Yorkshire area.

You\'ll make an impact by:

• Managing commercial property claims from instruction through to settlement, ensuring excellent customer outcomes.
• Conducting initial claim assessments, gathering evidence, reviewing coverage, and setting appropriate reserves.
• Coordinating suppliers, surveyors, and contractors to support efficient claim progression and resolution.
• Delivering claim decisions and settlement recommendations within delegated authority levels.
• Managing customer and broker relationships through clear, timely, and professional communication.
• Proactively controlling indemnity spend while protecting customer experience and enhancing the Intact brand.
• Escalating complex or high-value claims appropriately and collaborating with technical specialists when required.
• Supporting surge event response activities and contributing to continuous improvements in claims handling practices and policy wordings.

Your skills and experience:

• Strong knowledge of commercial property insurance, coverage assessment, and claims validation processes.
• Experience managing suppliers, contractors, and repair networks while maintaining cost controls.
