The role

As a Support Worker (Promoting Independence Assistant) in reablement, you'll be playing a key role in helping our customers regain and promote their independence and continue living in their own home, following hospital discharge or crisis intervention. This includes helping clients to relearn skills in their lives, such as personal care such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing as well as support with mobility and preparing meals.

You will provide support in a way that helps people ‘to do’ rather than ‘doing for’ people. Initially hands-on assistance may be required but Promoting Independence Assistants will enable and encourage the service user to do as much for themselves as possible.
