Job summary

A community support organization in the UK is seeking a Temporary Project Worker to assist individuals facing homelessness. In this role, you will provide encouragement and support, assess needs, and create support plans. The ideal candidate has experience in homelessness services and holds or is willing to pursue an NVQ3 in Health and Social Care. Sanctuary Supported Living is recruiting a Temporary Project Worker for our Homelessness Service at The Limes, 12 Camps Road, Haverhill, CB9 8HB.

Role: Temporary project worker – 37.5 hours per week, £13.34 per hour, for up to 6 months.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to encourage our customers who have faced homelessness to maximise their own potential and independence
  • Assess customers’ needs by writing and updating support plans
  • Act as the first point of call to receive and direct all customer queries
  • Develop relationships with customers, ensuring that customers maintain personal choice, privacy, and dignity
  • Liaise with external support links to improve customers’ confidence, health and wellbeing and offer training and encouragement towards employment and education
  • Handle occasional emergency situations
  • Keep accurate and high-quality written records
Qualifications
  • Experience of working with adults who have experienced homelessness
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can‑do” attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities while working to deadlines and targets
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it is essential
