Job summary

Codi Group is seeking a dedicated support worker at George Street, a specialist 8-bed service for young people aged 16–18 leaving care in Newport.

You will support residents to develop independence, life skills and prepare for adulthood, with person-centred help around education, employment, wellbeing and daily living. You’ll work with colleagues and partner agencies to deliver effective, compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.
  • For the role it is essential to hold a UK Driving Licence & access to a vehicle.
  • A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible.
  • An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives.
  • A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player.
  • Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations.

Responsibilities

About The Role

George Street is an 8-bed supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–18 who are leaving care. The service supports young people to develop their independence, build life skills and prepare for a successful transition into adulthood.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in working with young people and would like to develop their experience within Leaving Care Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support young people to develop their independence and confidence.
  • Provide person-centred support around education, employment, wellbeing and life skills.
  • Develop positive relationships and encourage young people to achieve their goals.
  • Work alongside colleagues and partner agencies to provide effective support.
  • Gain experience of working within a specialist leaving care service.
Skills And Experience Needed
