The Portfolios, Programmes and Projects Service supports managers in the council to deliver strategic priorities through transformation, change and capital construction projects.
The work we focus on is determined and prioritised by the council’s most senior managers and extends across the whole organisation, providing a challenging, varied and rewarding range of opportunities.
Providing this service since 2012, we are a respected and experienced team of Portfolio Management and project delivery professionals.
Our project delivery team consists of Programme Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Project Support Officers.
This PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER role works as part of both the CHANGE & TRANSFORMATION & CAPITAL PORTFOLIOS.
People working in this role work alongside programme and project managers to ensure that standards and reporting are maintained while programme and project boards are well-supported and run effectively.
People in this role will often also have their own elements of project delivery to work on alongside the rest of the project team.
To be successful in this role candidates will be able to communicate and work confidently with people at all levels of the organisation; have great attention to detail; manage competing priorities and meet important deadlines; provide advice and support to project managers and team; and take responsibility for the delivery or project work packages under direction of the project or programme manager.
This is a dynamic role, in a fast-paced delivery environment you will have the opportunity to contribute and make a tangible difference through supporting and enabling the organisation to deliver real and impactful outcomes.
The role is currently hybrid with flexibility to work regularly from home, however candidates should note that their contractual place of work will be City Hall in Bristol and they might be expected to attend this location in-person for up to five working days each week depending on the demands of the service we provide.
