Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a tier civil engineering contractor on a major MOD infrastructure scheme. The role covers marine and civil works, with responsibilities in commercial administration, measurements, subcontract management, and cost forecasting.

Ideal candidates will hold a Quantity Surveying degree and have NEC contract knowledge, plus experience on infrastructure or marine projects. A British National is required; MOD exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering Quantity Surveying.
• NEC contract knowledge and application.
• Marine, infrastructure, piling or reinforced concrete project experience advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• British National.
• MOD/defence project experience advantageous.

An opportunity exists for a Project Quantity Surveyor, who is a British National, with a tier civil engineering contractor on a major MOD infrastructure scheme delivering critical marine and civil engineering works.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a technically challenging project involving marine construction, offshore piling and complex concrete structures.

Your duties will include

• Day-to-day commercial administration of project works.
• Measurement and valuation of completed works.
• Preparation and management of subcontract packages.
• Cost tracking, forecasting and reporting.
• Assessment of variations and compensation events.
• Support monthly commercial reporting processes.
• Assist with final account preparation and agreement.
• Ensure compliance with project commercial procedures.

The requirements for this role include

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline.
• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering.
• NEC contract knowledge and practical application.
• Experience working on infrastructure, marine, port, harbour, piling or reinforced concrete projects advantageous but not essential
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• British National.
• Experience on MOD, defence or secure projects advantageous but not essential.
• Membership or progression towards a relevant professional body.
