Job summary

Harewood House Trust is seeking a proactive Project Officer to support the Deputy CEO and the Reimagining Harewood programme from development through delivery. You will coordinate meetings, monitor budgets and risks, and help manage reporting to Trustees and funders.

Qualifications

Harewood House Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and highly capable Project Officer to join our team and play a key role in the next chapter of Harewood's story.

Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Project Officer role will support the delivery of the Development Stage of Reimagining Harewood – an ambitious programme that will transform how people experience, understand and connect with Harewood’s heritage, landscape and collections.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major heritage project from an early stage, working alongside colleagues across the Trust and a team of leading specialists in architecture, landscape design and heritage.

About the Role

As Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Deputy CEO and the wider Reimagining Harewood project team in the development and delivery of this ambitious programme.

• You will provide comprehensive project management and co-ordination support, helping to keep the project on track and ensuring that information, budgets, risks, reporting and communications are effectively managed.
• You will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, programming and commercial, as well as external specialists and consultants working across architecture, landscape design, planning, ecology and heritage.
• The role is varied and hands-on. You could be co-ordinating project meetings, monitoring budgets and risks, supporting a tender process, preparing reports for Trustees and funders, helping to organise community engagement activity or taking responsibility for delivering smaller projects.
• You will also gain valuable experience of how a major heritage attraction is managed, developed and funded.

About You

• You will be an excellent organiser with strong planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will have a project management qualification and/or relevant project management experience and be confident working with budgets, written information and project documentation.
• You will also be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people. You will be approachable, friendly and an excellent communicator, with the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships at all levels.
• You will be proactive and curious, able to anticipate problems, find practical solutions and confidently challenge existing approaches when doing so will lead to better results.
