Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Project Manager for the Special Risks Team to lead UK-wide projects in fire protection. You will oversee site surveys, procurement, and cost control while coordinating with clients and site teams to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires a strong track record in commercial sprinkler projects, with expertise in BS EN12845/LPC standards and related systems; CSCS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as Project Manager of commercial sprinkler installations.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • Strong procurement and cost control skills.
  • Experience with commercial sprinkler contracts, wet and dry riser systems.
  • Knowledge of BS EN12845 and LPC Rules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Site surveys.
  • Procurement of labour, equipment and fabrication.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and site managers/supervisors.
  • Cost control of contracts/projects with Operations Manager and Director.
  • Maintain site records and progress diaries.
  • Ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning.

Project Manager - Special Risks Team - The Role

As the Project Manager within the Special Risks team you will be responsible for managing a selection of projects across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Site surveys
  • Procurement of labour, equipment and fabrication
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and site managers/supervisors
  • In partnership with your Operations Manager and Director, be responsible for cost control of contracts/projects
  • Keep records of installation progress and monitor against program of rewards
  • Keep up to date site records, including diary of all site operatives working on your projects
  • Maintain compliance on site with issued and approved method statements and risk assessments
  • Assist with testing and commissioning
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years experience as Project Manager of commercial sprinkler installations
  • CSCS card
  • Strong procurement and cost control skills
  • Background in commercial sprinkler contracts, wet riser systems and dry riser systems
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and similar project management software
  • Understanding of Sprinkler related standards BS EN12845, LPC Rules & BS9990
Desirable
  • LPCB Design qualification(s)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
