Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver civils works on Network Rail projects in Oxfordshire. You will manage tendering and delivery, coordinating site activities and subcontractors, and supporting commercial and technical aspects of bids.

The role is a 6-month contract with potential extension, offering up to £450/day (umbrella, Inside IR35). Candidates with PTS, TWC and a strong rail civils background are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience across heavy civils and temporary works.
• Ability to own projects and work independently.

• PTS and TWC, civil engineering degree or equivalent.

Are you a Project Manager with experience delivering civils works on Network Rail projects?

Do you have experience tendering and delivering works?

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join a rail contractor to support with tendering and delivery across projects for Network Rail.

Rate: up to £450/day DOE - Umbrella, Inside IR35

Location: Oxfordshire

Duration: 6 months, potential for extension

The successful candidate will have a strong rail civils background, with experience managing projects from tender stage through to delivery. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is comfortable managing site delivery, coordinating subcontractors and stakeholders, and supporting the commercial and technical aspects of tenders.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Project Manager delivering works on Network Rail projects.
• Previous experience working for rail contractors
• Proven experience managing projects through delivery, ideally combined with tender experience.
• Experience across heavy civils.
• Good knowledge of temporary works
• The ability to take ownership of projects and work independently.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with subcontractors and managing site delivery.
• PTS

• HND/HND/ BEng in Civil Engineering of equivalent

Alongside the current projects, there are further works planned for delivery from early 2027, with additional tenders expected to come through. This provides the opportunity for the successful candidate to develop into a longer-term position within the business.
