Job summary

Search Consultancy Ltd is recruiting a Project Manager for a heavy civil engineering/energy project in the North of Scotland. The role is based from Inverness with visits to sites and requires strong on-site leadership and programme delivery.

You will manage daily operations, keep the project to timescales, and report weekly to the Contracts Manager. Essential are a civil engineering degree, 2+ years PM experience, NEC understanding, and MS Project proficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Project Manager.
• Experience on civil engineering projects preferred; NEC knowledge and Microsoft Project are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily on-site operations on heavy civil projects in the North of Scotland.
• Ensure project timescales are met and work safely and accurately.
• Provide weekly progress reports to the Contracts Manager.
• Support Site Agents on site and assist with programme delivery.
• Handle other project management duties as required.

Search are actively recruiting for a Project Manager for a heavy civil engineering / energy project in the North of Scotland on behalf of one of our key clients who are an established contractor in the civil engineering sectors.

Our client

What you'll be doing:

• The successful Project Manager will be working on heavy civil engineering projects across the North of Scotland;
• Manage the daily operations on site and ensure project timescales are met within a safe and accurate fashion,
• Reporting weekly to the Contracts Manager on key aspects of progress issues and concerns,
• Contribute and help to ensure that success throughout all projects is achieved by delivering the programme on time,
• Support Site Agents on site,
• Any other project management duties as required.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Ideally, the candidate will be degree-educated within civil engineering;
• At least 2 years' experience as a Project Manager;
• Previous experience in civil engineering projects is VERY desirable, NEC and Microsoft Project experience is essential;
• Based from Inverness office is essential with ability to visit sites;
• Valid CSCS, SMSTS, is essential.
