Job summary

Insite International is seeking a Project Manager from a Civil Engineering background to lead a large groundworks package on a Farnborough site, overseeing up to 20 workers on site.

The assignment starts ASAP and runs until mid February 2027, with 10-hour days, Monday to Friday and some weekend work. Daily rate £350-£400 depending on experience and qualifications.

• SMSTS and Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
• First Aid at Work qualification.
• Strong QA and quality documentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site engineering and setting out.
• Set out drainage, ducting, foundations, concrete works, roads and external works.
• Check levels, coordinates, dimensions and drawings.
• Produce and maintain accurate as-built information.
• Manage site QA, ITPs, inspection records and quality docs.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with client and attend progress meetings.
• Ensure works adhere to drawings, specs and health & safety.

Job description

Insite International are currently looking for a Project Manager from a Civil Engineering to work in Farnborough, Guildford.

Starts ASAP

Work until February 2027

10 Hours Per Day, Monday to Friday (some weekend work)

£350 - £400 Per Day (Depending on Experience & Qualifications)

Duties to include working on a large civils project, on the £1.6Ml Groundworks package. Overseeing maximum circa 20 workers on the project. Works due to complete by mid February 2027.

• Carry out all site engineering and setting out.
• Set out drainage, ducting, foundations, concrete works, roads, kerbs and external works.
• Check levels, coordinates, dimensions and construction drawings.
• Produce and maintain accurate as-built information.
• Manage all site QA, ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation.
• Ensure works are completed correctly and in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Manage the day-to-day delivery of the project.
• Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Plan upcoming works and forecast site requirements.
• Provide input into the project programme and monitor progress against it.
• Identify delays, risks and programme issues early and report them.
• Monitor site costs and have good commercial awareness.
• Assist with variations, additional works, records and commercial information.
• Work closely with the QS and commercial team.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site operatives.
• Liaise directly with the client and attend progress and coordination meetings.
• Deal professionally with client queries and site issues.
• Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
• Take responsibility for site health and safety, including RAMS, briefings, inspections and site standards.
• Coordinate temporary works where required.
• Report progress, costs, issues, risks and requirements back to the Contracts Manager/Project Manager.

• Able to read and understand drawings, specifications and construction information.
