  • Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure adequate labour resources meet programme requirements.
  • Coordinate material and plant deliveries with procurement and programmes.
  • Monitor quality of workmanship by subcontractors and site teams.
  • Identify and report risks, delays and potential commercial issues.

Civils Project Manager

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Civils Project Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from mobilisation through to completion.

The successful candidate will oversee site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within budget. You will manage site teams, subcontractors, resources and client relationships while monitoring progress and resolving any issues that could affect programme or performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities to ensure projects are delivered to programme, specification and budget.
  • Take overall responsibility for health and safety compliance and safe working practices on site.
  • Lead and manage site teams, labour and subcontractors effectively.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and communicate project progress clearly and professionally.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure adequate labour resources are available to meet programme requirements.
  • Coordinate material and plant deliveries in line with procurement and project programmes.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship carried out by subcontractors and site teams.
  • Identify and report quality issues, delays, disruption and potential commercial risks.
  • Monitor progress against the contract programme and implement corrective action where required.
  • Coordinate with construction, commercial and design teams to ensure drawings, schedules and technical information are available when required.
  • Ensure site instructions and changes are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and ensure weekly reports and records are submitted on time.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Relevant professional qualification.
  • SMSTS.
  • Valid CSCS Managers & Professionals card.
  • First Aid qualification.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager within civils or civil engineering.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and civil engineering processes.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
  • Experience monitoring project programmes and production.
Safety & Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have a good understanding of:

  • Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Safe working at height.
  • Environmental awareness.
  • Asbestos awareness
