Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Project Manager to lead major civil engineering projects across Kent and East Sussex. You will oversee site teams, engineers and subcontractors to ensure delivery on programme, within budget and to high quality standards.

The role requires extensive experience in heavy civil projects, strong NEC contract knowledge, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, procurement, risk and client relations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering heavy civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
• Experience managing project programmes, budgets, risk and contractual change.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of major civil engineering projects.
• Manage site teams, engineers, operatives and subcontractors.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Prepare and implement project management plans, method statements and risk assessments.
• Develop, monitor and regularly update project programmes.
• Understand tender allowances and monitor project performance against budgets.
• Work closely with commercial team to manage project cost, risk and contractual change.
• Coordinate design activities between clients, consultants and internal teams.
• Procure, assess and manage subcontractors throughout delivery.

Project Manager Job Overview

Project Manager Job Requirements

• Previous Project Manager experience with a Tier 1 main Civil Engineering contractor
• Strong background delivering heavy civil engineering projects
• Proven experience delivering highways and structures schemes
• Experience managing major or technically complex infrastructure projects from mobilisation through to completion
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
• Experience managing project programmes, budgets, risk and contractual change
• Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methodologies
• Experience coordinating design and temporary works
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational ability
• CSCS, SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator qualification advantageous
• Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline preferred
• ICE membership or working towards professional membership advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence
