Job summary

FFW Site Services Ltd is recruiting an experienced Project Manager to lead civil engineering and highways projects across Yorkshire. You will own projects from planning through to successful completion, coordinating site teams and subcontractors to deliver on time and to budget.

The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to risk management, with a focus on quality delivery and long-term staff development.

Qualifications

• Proven PM experience in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience delivering road/highway construction projects.
• Experience managing projects from planning to completion.
• Understanding of NEC contracts and cost control.
• Management of multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
• Solid knowledge of construction methods and CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering/highways projects from planning through to completion.
• Manage programmes, budgets, resources and subcontractors for efficient delivery.
• Lead Site Managers and site teams to achieve targets.
• Monitor performance, risks, delays and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with commercial teams on costs, variations and valuations.
• Ensure health and safety standards and contractual compliance.
• Maintain client relationships and provide project updates.
• Oversee resources including labour, plant and materials.
• Maintain accurate records and contractual documentation.
• Support project handover and final accounts.

FFW Site Services are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of highways and infrastructure projects across Yorkshire.

With a strong forward order book and continued growth, our client is seeking a commercially aware, hands on Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering and highways projects from preconstruction through to completion.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and subcontractors to ensure efficient delivery.
• Lead and coordinate Site Managers, Site Engineers and wider project teams.
• Monitor project performance, identifying risks, delays and opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with commercial teams to manage costs, variations, valuations and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Manage client relationships, attend progress meetings and provide regular project updates.
• Oversee labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources.
• Maintain accurate project records, reporting and contractual documentation.
• Support project completion, handover and final account processes.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong experience delivering road and highway construction projects.
• Experience managing projects from initial planning through to completion.
• Sound understanding of NEC contracts, commercial management and project programming.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
• Ability to manage budgets, programmes and project risks effectively.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Civil Engineering or Construction Management qualification.
• Appropriate CSCS card.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable but not essential:

• SMSTS qualification.
• Experience delivering public realm, drainage, bridge or wider infrastructure projects.
• Temporary Works experience.
• Professional membership of ICE, CIOB or a similar institution.
