Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Project Manager to lead major high-rise refurbishment and capital investment initiatives. You will oversee inception through completion, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, cost control and quality across occupied residential environments.

The role requires strong leadership of multidisciplinary teams, robust stakeholder engagement with residents and professionals, and adherence to Building Safety and CDM regulations. Hybrid working options apply.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering high-value, complex high-rise construction or refurbishment projects.
• Strong knowledge of Building Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and fire safety in residential buildings.
• Ability to manage programmes, budgets, risks and contractor performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management with residents, consultants, contractors and senior leaders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, surveyors and consultants.
• Strong commercial awareness and NEC/JCT contract management experience.

Role:Project Manager – Capital Programme Delivery

Contract Type:Permanent

Working Hours:37 Hours Per Week - Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm

Worker Type:Hybrid Worker - working time will be split between your work base and working remotely in agreement with the Line Manager.

Salary:Grade I - starting salary of£47,665per annum (Level one) rising to£50,908per annum(Level four)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of major high-rise residential refurbishment, building safety and capital investment projects. The role will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, managing consultants, contractors and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with Building Safety requirements, CDM Regulations and all relevant legislative obligations. The successful candidate will oversee programme delivery, risk management, contract administration, budget control and resident engagement, ensuring that projects achieve positive outcomes for both residents and the organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex, high-value construction projects within occupied residential environments.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Proven experience delivering high-value, complex high-rise construction or refurbishment projects from inception to completion.
2. Strong knowledge of Building Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, fire safety requirements and statutory compliance within residential buildings.
3. Demonstrable ability to manage project programmes, budgets, risks and contractor performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
4. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, consultants, contractors and senior leaders.
5. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, surveyors and specialist consultants, to achieve successful project outcomes.
6. Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience, ideally within NEC and/or JCT environments, with a focus on quality, safety and value for money.
