Our client is a non-profit organisation working with people to support their mental health and wellbeing. Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its borders. They are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC).

Salary: £48,000 (FTE, pro-rata for 6 months)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: 6 months

Location: Woking / Hybrid (minimum 2 days on site in Woking)

You will work on a time-bound transformation programme to:

  • Integrate services
  • Bolster financial resilience
  • Sharpen impact across Surrey

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Plan and Co-ordinate: Translate senior leadership ambitions into a detailed, six-month delivery plan with milestones, work streams, and risk controls.
  2. Drive Service Improvement: Steer priority projects to completion, using lean/service design methods to improve client experience, access, and cost-efficiency.
  3. Enable Partnerships and Culture Change: Maintain strong relationships with NHS partners, local authorities, and VCSE allies, ensuring activities reflect the charity's ethos of Supporting Wellness Together.

This role is subject to a DBS check. Past drug, alcohol, or criminality history will not necessarily disqualify candidates.

Our ideal applicant will have:

  • Proven experience managing complex service improvement or transformation projects in Charity, NHS, or local authority settings.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards without direct line management authority.
  • Experience working with NHS commissioners and providers on partnership contracts or pilots.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or service design tools.
  • Ideally, experience within mental health, substance use, or broader VCSE sectors.
