Job summary

People Group in the United Kingdom seeks a Project Manager to own a major buildings package on a high-profile infrastructure project. At the ECI/PCSA stage you can shape design, procurement, sequencing and the delivery strategy for a Maintenance Building, a Control Centre and ancillary facilities.

You will lead safety, schedule, cost and quality across multiple contractors, coordinating interfaces across civils, building services and rail systems while managing the client relationship throughout

Qualifications

• Degree in construction related subject.
• Experience delivering major building packages in infrastructure, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Comfortable in large project teams with accountability for delivery.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts is beneficial.

Job description

A unique opportunity for a Project Manager to take ownership of a major buildings package on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.

Joining at ECI / PCSA stage means you will have the opportunity to shape the buildings package, rather than simply inherit it. You will have genuine influence over design, procurement, sequencing and the delivery strategy.

The buildings package will encompass a Maintenance Building, a Control Centre, a Welfare and office facility and various other ancillary buildings. The overall project is estimated at £800M+. Construction is planned to complete in 2031.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to drive performance across multiple contractors and technical disciplines.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the safe, timely and commercially successful delivery of the buildings package

About you

• Be educated to degree standard in a construction related subject
• You will have a strong track record of delivering major building packages, preferably gained in complex Infrastructure, Manufacturing or Industrial sectors
• Be comfortable operating within a large project team, managing competing priorities and taking full accountability for delivery
• Have an appreciation of the NEC form of contract, although this is a nice to have, not an essential.
