Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced FF&E Project Manager in Manchester for a hands-on, end-to-end role from pre-construction to final delivery on site. You will work with the pre-construction team to build labour costs, develop the programme and deliver with a site manager and wider site team.

The role requires proven FF&E project management experience, strong organisation and communication skills, and a willingness to travel to sites.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Manager in FF&E, fit-out, or interiors.
  • Knowledge of FF&E installation, sequencing and quality standards.
  • Experience managing sub-contractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.
  • IT literate with MS Project and Excel.
  • SMSTS (or equivalent) and CSCS card preferred.
  • First Aid at Work and asbestos awareness desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Work with pre-construction to review tender documents, drawings and specifications.
  • Build labour costs for projects including sub-contractors and direct labour.
  • Develop the project programme aligning FF&E with the wider construction timetable.
  • Input into value engineering and buildability reviews.
  • Liaise with clients, designers and main contractors during pre-start.
  • Take ownership from mobilisation to handover and snagging.
  • Manage sub-contractor performance, attendance and quality.
  • Chair site meetings, manage RFIs and maintain programme.
  • Conduct quality inspections and sign off works.
  • Track labour/material spend and assist with variations and final accounts.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) Project Manager to join our growing team in Manchester. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role - you'll be involved from pre-construction right through to final delivery on site, working closely with the pre-construction team to build out labour costs, develop the programme, and then deliver the project with the support of a site manager and wider site team.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction

Work closely with the pre-construction team to review tender documents, drawings and specifications.

Build out labour costs for each project, including sub-contractor packages and direct labour requirements.

Develop the project programme, sequencing FF&E installation alongside the wider construction programme.

Input into value engineering and buildability reviews.

Liaise with clients, designers and main contractors during the pre-start phase.

Delivery

Take ownership of the project from mobilisation through to handover and snagging completion.

Manage sub-contractor performance, attendance and quality of work.

Chair site meetings, manage RFIs and ensure the programme is maintained.

Conduct quality inspections and sign off completed works.

Manage snagging and final handover to client.

Track labour and material spend against budget.

Manage the programme, identifying and mitigating delays.

Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and client updates.

Work with the QS / commercial team on variations and final accounts.

Key Requirements

Proven experience as a Project Manager within FF&E, fit-out, or interiors projects.

Solid knowledge of FF&E installation, sequencing and quality standards.

Confident managing sub-contractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.

IT literate - comfortable with MS Project, Excel and project management software.

SMSTS (or equivalent) and CSCS card (Black or Gold) preferred.

First Aid at Work and asbestos awareness desirable.

Full UK driving licence.

Personal Attributes
