Job summary

Rogers McHugh is seeking a Project Manager for a growing team delivering CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects across the Northwest with some work from their London office. Roles include managing projects up to £10m, coordinating site activity, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have CSCS Black or White, SMSTS and a relevant qualification (NVQ 6 or BSc in Construction Management). Travel to sites is required.

• Strong experience delivering fit out and refurbishment projects.
• Experience managing projects on commercial sites such as offices, laboratories, and industrial units.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple live fit out and refurbishment projects from mobilisation to completion.
• Manage programmes, procurement, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain client relationships and provide regular progress updates and reporting.

Job description

An established construction and interior fit out business specialising in CAT A and CAT B fit out projects is looking to appoint a Project Manager to join their growing team.

The business delivers projects for a range of commercial clients, with the majority of their work across the Northwest and some projects covered from their London office. Projects range from £50k to £500k, with larger projects up to £10m.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of projects and being trusted to manage them through to completion. The role offers a varied workload across office fit outs, refurbishments and other commercial spaces, including laboratories and industrial units, with a mixture of site-based, office and home working.

The business has a practical and collaborative approach, giving experienced Project Managers the responsibility and flexibility to manage their own projects while working within established systems and processes.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for managing multiple projects from start through to completion. Responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple live fit out and refurbishment projects
• Overseeing projects from mobilisation through to completion
• Managing programmes and ensuring projects remain on schedule
• Managing Site Managers and overseeing site activity
• Coordinating subcontractors and overseeing site activity
• Monitoring project costs and maintaining expected margins
• Managing procurement and appointing subcontractors
• Ensuring materials and resources are available when required
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients and keeping them informed of project progress
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely and to the required quality standards
• Carrying out regular site visits and working closely with site teams and subcontractors
• Managing project documentation, reporting and commercial information

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Project Manager within construction or interior fit out
• Strong experience delivering fit out and refurbishment projects
• Experience working on commercial projects, particularly offices, laboratories and industrial units
• Experience managing projects ranging from £50k to £500k, with larger projects up to £10m
• CSCS Black or White and SMSTS
• NVQ Level 6 or BSc in Construction Management, or a similar relevant qualification
• Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements
• Experience managing Site Managers, subcontractors, programmes, and site activity
• Strong communication and client management skills
• Willingness to travel to projects as required
