Job summary

Tended in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead safety deployments of our geofencing technology on client sites. You will plan, coordinate, and deliver training to rail-industry users, ensuring on-time, high-quality outcomes.

You will manage risks, dependencies, and reporting, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and travel to client sites as needed. Weekend/bank holiday work and a full driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in project management disciplines: planning, risks, dependencies, issues, timelines, scope, deliverables and quality.
• Experience delivering training to end users, ensuring they are confident with new technologies.
• Initiative to identify and fix problems, thinking creatively to improve processes.
• Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
• Willingness to work weekends, bank holidays and/or overnight to support deployments.
• Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Valid driving licence required.

We’re a venture-backed scale-up with an incredible team and work alongside industry-leading organisations in the rail sector to innovate and bring rail workers home safe every day. Tended is growing quickly and we're now recruiting for Project Managers to support our technology deployments on client sites around the UK.

Tasks

The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the project, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company objectives, and will take a hands-on role in delivering training directly to client users. Key responsibilities include planning and scheduling project work, organising and delivering client training, and producing clear written updates and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Essential:

• You have significant experience in project management disciplines such as planning, managing risks, dependencies, issues, timelines, scope, deliverables and quality.
• You have experience delivering training or coaching to end users, ensuring they are confident and capable in using new technologies and processes.
• You instinctively take initiative to find and fix problems, thinking out of the box to find ways to make things better.
• You have experience with project management tools (such as Microsoft Project).
• You are able to work at weekends, bank holidays and/or overnight when required, to support deployments to shift workers.
• Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills are essential
• You must be able to drive and have a full driving licence.

Desirable:

• You might have practical, hands-on experience of on-the-ground delivery of new technologies, delivering to a range of different kinds of users with different levels of tech-savviness.
• You might have some commercial awareness, such as understanding how to demonstrate the value of our work to clients during and after delivery. Good report writing skills to clearly communicate outcomes and insights are desirable.
• Qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proven experience in the rail industry would be a significant advantage.
