Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex power and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will own projects from planning and design through to construction, commissioning and final handover, ensuring delivery is safe, sustainable, on programme, within budget and to high quality standards.

About the role

Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex power and infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of projects from initial planning and design through to construction, commissioning and final handover. You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, sustainably, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with clients, stakeholders, supply chain partners and internal delivery teams, you'll provide the leadership, direction and coordination needed to drive project success while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

What you'll be doing
  • Managing the full project lifecycle from planning through to completion and handover.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams including Engineers, Construction Managers, Site Managers and functional specialists.
  • Taking accountability for project performance against safety, quality, programme and financial targets.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Leading project governance, reporting and review activities.
  • Driving a culture of Zero Harm and ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Managing project risks, opportunities and change control processes.
  • Overseeing subcontractor performance and ensuring contractual obligations are achieved.
  • Coordinating resources and project functions to support efficient delivery.
  • Leading accident and incident investigations where required and implementing improvement actions.
  • Supporting the development and mentoring of future leaders within the project team.
Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering infrastructure, utilities, energy, power or construction projects.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing complex construction, utilities or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing project budgets, programmes and commercial performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management capabilities.
  • A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental best practice.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.
  • Strong risk, programme and resource management skills.
  • The ability to challenge designs, solve problems and make informed decisions.
  • A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.
