Job summary

Kier Group, part of Southern Water’s delivery framework, seeks a Finance Manager to lead financial management and reporting for Southern Water projects in Falmer. The role offers hybrid working with 2–3 days in the office weekly and 37.5 hours with flexible hours. Applicants should be qualified accountants with strong project accounting and Excel skills.

The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, month-end processes and financial governance within a long-term framework environment.

Qualifications

Qualified accountant with ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent.
Experience in finance management and project accounting for large projects.
Strong skills in project financial controls, cost reporting, budgeting and month-end processes.
Advanced Excel and experience with finance ERP systems.
Strong communication with project teams and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly project financial reports, forecasts, cashflow and budget variance.
Provide financial leadership and challenge to project teams for cost control and reporting.
Oversee project accounting records including income, expenditure, accruals.
Manage month-end close activities, journals, reconciliations and packs.
Support payment applications, client billing, invoice management and purchase order controls.
