Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Assistant Design Manager to support Southern Water Services in delivering engineering design across water and wastewater projects. The role is based in Falmer, Brighton; with additional site locations in Chatham and Chichester, offering hybrid working with 3 days on-site.

You will work within the Southern Water Services team to ensure high-quality design delivery, cost-efficiency, and sustainable solutions while adhering to CDM regulations and safety considerations.

Qualifications

• Engineering design delivery experience across water/wastewater projects.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Active pursuit of professional qualification (Chartered Engineer) with engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design delivery for assigned projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and design consultants to develop technically sound, economical solutions.
• Develop Engineering Project Plans covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, affordability, and sustainable design.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and manage design-related health and safety aspects.
