Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to join the Electronic Warfare line of business in the Combat Air sector. Based in Bristol with hybrid working and ~3 days on-site, you will lead engineering efforts for the Tempest IPT, coordinating with the IPT lead, Project Manager and Functional Heads to deliver a robust, compliant product line.

The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with willingness to travel within the UK and abroad as needed.

• Proven ability to produce clear engineering plans and deliverables.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Effective communication with diverse stakeholders across sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering aspects of the Project, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage cross-site, multi-disciplinary engineering teams with clearly defined roles.
• Maintain strong customer/partner relationships to deliver project capability.
• Coordinate with Systems Design Authority on progress, risks and mitigations.
• Ensure the design meets end-user requirements, is reliable, documented and environment-compatible.
