Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to guide the engineering aspects of the Tempest IPT. The role sits in Bristol with hybrid working and UK travel opportunities, reporting to the Project Engineering Manager and collaborating with the Chief Engineer.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensure technical quality and manage schedules and budgets, while engaging with customers and partners to deliver capability and maintain strong communication across the IPT.

Qualifications

• Ability to produce clear concise engineering plans.
• Good problem-solving ability.
• Good schedule and budget control.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering aspects of the project, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget.
• Manage cross-site, multi-disciplinary engineering teams with clearly defined roles.
• Build positive relationships with customers and partners to deliver project capability.
• Maintain clear communication across the Engineering IPT with IPT lead, Project Manager and Functional Heads.
• Inform Systems Design Authority of progress, risk and mitigations.
• Ensure the design meets end-user requirements and is well-documented.
• Control project configuration and change management to maximise design reuse.
• Support supplier management and make/buy decisions.
• Capture concept solutions and document trade-offs and user engagement.
• Develop the Engineering Team through mentoring and objective setting.
