Job summary

TechMet Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineer to cover the Scottish Highlands, providing remote and on-site support to customers across the UK and Ireland. A company vehicle is included.

You will deliver practical engineering solutions to support carbon-neutral initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance of biomass steam boilers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Experience in maintenance/reliability and field service.
• Strong customer-facing communication.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
• Experience with steam boilers/biomass systems is a plus.

PROJECT ENGINEER – SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

Our client has facilities in Fermanagh and the North of Scotland. Opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to cover the Scottish market in N of Scotland. Reporting to the Customer Engineering Manager, you will provide remote and on-site support to our customers across the UK and Ireland. Company Vehicle provided.

Purpose of the Job:

As a member of the Customer Engineering Team, the Project Engineer will play a key role in delivering practical engineering solutions that support carbon-neutral initiatives for both new and existing clients.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and address potential challenges, optimise processes, and improve system performance across our portfolio of industrial biomass steam boilers.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; planning & organizing;
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject – in place of a degree (HNC/HND) or equivalent qualification with a strong technical background and demonstrated relevant experience
• Proven experience in a maintenance/reliability role, preferably within a relevant industry. Experience in delivering field service & support
• Experience in troubleshooting customer problems and acting as a point of contact for customer queries
• As a customer facing member of the team, have the ability to develop constructive relationships with customers/Installers/own team.
• Full UK driving License.
• Expected to travel and stay away from home on occasion- As business requires but usually based in the Scottish Highlands and islands

Desirable:

• Experience of steam boilers and/ or wood pellet biomass systems – in particular boiler servicing/breakdown repair and storage/fuel feed systems
