Job summary

MC Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer to support sites across Northern Ireland with occasional work in Scotland. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of plant and boiler systems, fault-finding, and coordinating subcontractors.

You will travel to different sites, work independently or with contractors, and apply strong troubleshooting skills to minimise downtime while keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Around 2 years' relevant experience in a maintenance or field service engineering role.
• Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with PLC control systems.
• Steam boiler maintenance experience desirable.
• Willingness to travel to sites in Scotland as required.

We are looking for a hands-on Service Engineer to join their team, keeping critical plant and equipment running across sites in Northern Ireland with additional requirements for work at sites in Scotland. If you're a practical problem-solver with a background in mechanical or electrical maintenance and enjoy variety in your working week, this could be the role for you.

About the Role

As Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment, including steam boiler systems, ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. You'll work both independently and alongside subcontractors, applying strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues quickly.

This role will occasionally require travel to sites in Scotland, so flexibility around travel is important.
