Job summary
WH Scott & Son (Engineers) Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to lead lifting equipment projects across rail, aerospace, defence, manufacturing and heavy industry. You will own technical detail from award to handover, conduct site surveys, review drawings, and coordinate contractors with RAMS and lift plans.
Based in Bristol with UK travel, this 12-month contract offers varied projects and a pathway to permanent roles.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a project engineering/technical role in lifting, fabrication or industrial services, including site-based work.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards (LOLER/PUWER/RAMS) and reading drawings.
- Strong organisation and communication with safety-first mindset, including working at height.
- Full UK driving licence and proficiency with MS Office.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical detail from contract award through commissioning and handover.
- Conduct site surveys and review drawings with Design.
- Coordinate subcontractors and installation teams and manage technical queries and changes.
- Prepare RAMS and lift plans, maintain document control and meeting minutes.
- Track purchasing and project costs in Business Central; ensure audit-ready files.
