Job summary

WH Scott & Son (Engineers) Ltd in Bristol is seeking a Project Engineer to own the technical detail of lifting projects from award to commissioning. You’ll perform site surveys, review drawings with the design team, manage technical queries and change, and coordinate subcontractors and installation teams.

You’ll also maintain documentation for RAMS and cost tracking in Business Central, ensuring audit-ready records across projects, with regular UK site visits and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• An HNC/HND or degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years in a project engineering or technical role in engineering, lifting, fabrication or industrial services.
• Working knowledge of LOLER, PUWER and RAMS, and the ability to read engineering drawings.
• Safety-first mindset with strong organisation and the ability to work at height.
• Full UK driving licence and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with cranes or lifting equipment and professional qualifications (APM/PRINCE2/CSCS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys and review drawings with the design team.
• Manage technical queries and change, coordinate subcontractors and installation teams.
• Prepare RAMS and lift plans and maintain document control and cost tracking in Business Central.
• Keep projects audit-ready with meeting minutes and purchasing records.
