Job summary

HS2 Ltd in Manchester seeks an experienced civil/mechanical engineer to deliver cost-effective, safe design solutions and support the Senior Project Engineer. You will review PSC submissions, ensure compliance with standards, and engage with stakeholders to provide scheme updates.

You will assist in managing the design programme, inform on emerging issues, and work with consultants to deliver compliant design work. Strong collaboration and EV/EDI emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost-effective and safe design solutions that comply with requirements.
• Review technical submissions for compliance against standards.
• Engage with stakeholders and internal experts for scheme updates.
• Assist in managing the design programme and inform of issues/opportunities.
• Inform and deliver design work in line with requirements with consultants.
• Identify and present Value Engineering opportunities.
• Support environmental design and consent documentation during processes.
• Promote a collaborative culture and high performance.
