Job description

Project Coordinator - Employment and Skills
About Us

Project Coordinator Employment and Skills

Fixed Term until 31st March 2026

Hybrid with an expectation to work across all SLP boroughs

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised project coordinator for employment and skills to join our dynamic team delivering the Trailblazer programme for economically inactive residents across South London. This innovative project aims to reduce economic inactivity by developing integrated, person-centred employment and skills pathways, working closely with local authorities, health services, training providers, and voluntary sector partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile initiative that is driving system change and delivering real impact for residents furthest from the labour market. Do you have experience in project management within employment and skills sectors?

As the South London Partnership (SLP) Employment and Skills Project Officer, you will provide day-to-day project coordination support, ensuring delivery milestones are met. You will maintain accurate project plans, trackers, and risk registers. You will support performance reporting, claim submissions, and compliance monitoring. You will liaise with delivery partners, Borough leads, and health teams to gather updates and ensure smooth communication.

Your main project area will involve supporting the effective delivery and integration of People, Skills, and Employment with health programmes across the six boroughs of Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Wandsworth, and Sutton. You will also assist the Head of Economy, Skills, and Employment with project management reporting for all SLP Employment and Skills projects. For further information about SLP, please visit Home - South London Partnership.

The People and Skills programme at SLP delivers various employment and skills projects to help residents across South London into meaningful work. You will support the Programme Lead in coordinating, delivering, and managing the performance of all SLP projects.

This is an exciting time to join SLP as we expand our services to link with health partners to provide access to employment services. This is a fixed-term contract until March 31st, 2026. The role is hybrid, primarily remote, but requires working from various sites across the boroughs to support events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day project coordination support to meet delivery milestones.
  • Maintain accurate project plans, trackers, and risk registers.
  • Support performance reporting, claim submissions, and compliance monitoring.
  • Liaise with delivery partners, Borough leads, and health teams to gather updates and ensure effective communication.
  • Organise project meetings, workshops, and engagement events.
  • Assist with data collection for evaluation and audit purposes.
  • Support communications campaigns, including social media products.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of employment and skills opportunities and challenges across South London Partnership areas.
  • Previous experience supporting projects, ideally in the public or voluntary sector.
  • Strong administration and coordination skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to confidently use social media as a marketing tool.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data and maintain confidentiality; a commitment to equality, inclusion, and partnership working.
  • Experience working with councils on employment and skills activities.
  • Ability to collect, collate, summarise, analyse information, and draft high-quality management reports.
