A leading company in the aerospace sector is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their Space Thruster Test team. This role involves working with high-pressure systems, instrumentation installation, and data analysis to support critical space propulsion tests. We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to work as a Space Thruster Test Technician supporting Hot Fire Space Propulsion Testing programmes.
The successful candidate will work with Test Engineers on site preparation, propellant handling, sampling, pressure control systems checks, mechanical and steam vacuum systems, instrumentation calibrations, and steam boiler operation. Responsibilities also include the collation and review of test data.
This role involves extensive work on high-pressure gas and fluidic systems, including interpretation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and the use of electrical and electronic measurement and testing equipment.
You will be working with satellite flight hardware, preparing space flight engines for testing, including instrumentation installation, mounting on test stands, post-test removal, and engine decontamination activities.
