Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Project Civil Engineer for its Northampton team. You will contribute to below-ground drainage, SuDS, and highways design across commercial, residential, industrial projects, using AutoCAD.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 2–3 years of consultancy experience, with a UK driving licence and the ability to manage own workload. The firm offers hybrid/flexible working, 25 days leave, a contributory pension, and mentoring toward ICE/IStructE

Project Civil Engineer

Location: Northampton
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000

PRP is looking to appoint a Project Civil Engineer to its Northampton team. This is an opportunity for an engineer with some consultancy experience to contribute to projects across the commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and education sectors, developing their technical responsibility within an established team.

The Role

You will undertake civil engineering design work across a range of projects, including:

• Designing below-ground foul and surface water drainage systems.

• Producing and developing engineering drawings using AutoCAD.

• Preparing drainage strategies and SuDS designs.

• Contributing to highways and wider infrastructure design.

• Liaising with local authority planning departments and Lead Local Flood Authorities.

• Organising your workload, managing deadlines and coordinating your design contributions with the wider project team.

About You

• A degree or suitable qualification in Civil Engineering.

• Around 2-3 years’ relevant post-graduate experience in civil engineering consultancy.

• Experience of below-ground foul and surface water drainage design.

• Competent in producing engineering drawings using AutoCAD.

• Knowledge of SuDS and familiarity with MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.

• An understanding of highways design and its relationship with drainage.

• Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage your own workload.

• A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
