Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking a Graduate/Project Civil Engineer for Leicester/Northampton with an immediate start. Salary £29,000–£31,000 per year, DOE. Permanent, full-time role with hybrid working (3 days in office after probation) and flexitime.

The role covers design of below-ground drainage, highways interaction, and liaises with local authorities. Training, mentoring, and chartership support are offered as part of a comprehensive development package.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience preferred (2-3 years) or graduate considered.
• Experience in design of below-ground foul and surface water drainage.
• Competent in producing drawings using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of SuDS.
• Familiarity with MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage software.
• Familiarity with highways design and how it interacts with drainage design.
• Ability to liaise with local authority planning departments and Lead Local Flood Authorities.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil design across a wide variety of civil and structural engineering projects.
• Work across commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and education sectors.
• Work on projects valued up to £40 million.
• Design below-ground foul and surface water drainage systems.
• Produce accurate engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Apply knowledge of SuDS within civil design.
• Use MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage software.
• Consider the relationship between highways and drainage design.
• Liaise with local authority planning departments and Lead Local Flood Authorities.
• Manage deadlines and organise your own workload.
• Work collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team.

Qualifications Essential:
