Job summary

Queen Alexandra Charity in Birmingham seeks a Personal Development & Progress Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Progress Coach team. You will line manage Progress Coaches, oversee quality assurance, and deliver training to staff while maintaining a reduced learner caseload of approximately 10.

The role supports learner progress, personal development delivery and preparation for adulthood outcomes across the college.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or mentoring staff in an educational or SEND setting.
• Strong understanding of preparation for adulthood outcomes.
• Experience with quality assurance or monitoring processes.
• Ability to design and deliver training.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line-manage Progress Coaches, ensuring high practice standards.
• Conduct regular 1:1 checks, performance reviews and development planning.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and professional challenge to staff.
• Support workload management and staff wellbeing.
• Contribute to recruitment, induction and appraisal processes.
• Lead Progress Coach team meetings and cross-college collaboration.
