Job summary

Nigel Wright Recruitment is seeking a Programme Assistant on behalf of a well-established charity. This part-time, York-based role offers remote/hybrid working, a busy grant programme, and the opportunity to support delivery of meaningful projects.

You will coordinate meetings, track applications, prepare reports, manage communications with stakeholders, and assist with invoices. Strong organisation and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident written and verbal communication.
  • Strong IT skills with databases and MS Office.

Programme Assistant

Part-Time | Charity Sector | Remote/Hybrid (York-Based)

£20.98 per hour | 3 Days per Week

Are you a highly organised administrator looking for a role where your work can make a genuine difference? We're recruiting a Programme Assistant on behalf of a well-established, values-led charitable trust dedicated to addressing the root causes of conflict and injustice through impactful, grant-funded programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation and play a key role in supporting the delivery of meaningful projects that create positive social change.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will provide high-quality administrative and programme support to ensure the smooth delivery of a busy grant programme. This is a varied and rewarding position, offering the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to projects with real social impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating meetings, including arranging logistics, preparing papers and taking minutes
  • Supporting grant administration processes, including tracking applications and maintaining accurate databases
  • Preparing programme documentation, reports and correspondence
  • Managing communications with stakeholders, partners and funded organisations
  • Assisting with financial administration, including processing invoices and payments
  • Supporting events, consultations and wider programme activity as required
About You

We're looking for an organised and proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in an administration, coordination or programme support role
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, including experience working with databases and Microsoft Office applications
  • An interest in, or experience of, the charity, voluntary or social impact sector would be advantageous
